Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 2026

These terms and conditions govern your hire of chocolate fountain equipment from Chocolate Fountains North London, a trading name of Igloo Labs Limited (company number pending registration), a company incorporated in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing a booking you agree to these terms in full.

1. The hire agreement

When you complete a booking on our website and payment is processed, a hire agreement is formed between you and Igloo Labs Limited. You will receive a confirmation email from Stripe as evidence of your booking.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any booking at our discretion. If we cancel your booking we will issue a full refund.

2. Equipment

We hire JM Posner Tabletop Chocolate Fountains. The equipment remains our property at all times. You are hiring the right to use the equipment for the agreed rental period only.

Equipment is provided clean and in good working order. You must return it in a reasonable condition. Normal use and minor staining is accepted. Damage beyond fair wear and tear may be charged to you.

3. Collection and return

Equipment is available for collection from our North London location. We will confirm the exact address by email after booking. You are responsible for safe transportation of the equipment to and from your event.

Equipment must be returned by the end date shown in your booking. Late returns may incur an additional charge of the published extra-day rate per day overdue.

4. Payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking via Stripe. We do not store your card details.

Any add-ons (chocolate, insurance, cleaning) selected during booking are charged at the rates shown and are non-refundable once the equipment has been collected.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your booking up to 30 days before your collection date for a £5.00 cancellation fee. The remainder of the hire fee will be refunded to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Cancellations made fewer than 30 days before your collection date are non-refundable.

To cancel, email help@chocolate-fountains.co.uk with your booking reference.

Your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013: Because this is a hire of goods for a specific date (your event), the 14-day cooling-off period that ordinarily applies to distance contracts does not apply under Regulation 28(h). Our cancellation policy above applies instead.

6. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

7. Loss and damage

You are responsible for the equipment from the moment of collection until it is returned to us. In the event of loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear, we reserve the right to charge you for the cost of repair or replacement. We recommend checking that your home or event insurance covers hired equipment. We offer optional insurance cover as an add-on at the time of booking.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with any hire is limited to the total amount you paid for that hire. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of enjoyment or losses arising from an event being affected.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Chocolate and food safety

If you purchase chocolate from us, it is intended for use with the fountain only. Always follow food safety guidance when serving food. We are not responsible for any allergic reactions or foodborne illness arising from use of the equipment or chocolate. Please inform your guests of any allergens. Our Belgian chocolate contains milk and may contain traces of nuts.

10. Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation. If equipment is not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose, please contact us immediately.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Contact

For any questions about these terms, please contact us at help@chocolate-fountains.co.uk.
